German Wikipedia: de:Pure Fucking Armageddon to User:Itsnotuitsme/Pure Fucking Armageddon. (is a redirect yet) --Itsnotuitsme (talk) 10:40, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure that you can dispel the concerns from WP:Articles for deletion/Pure Fucking Armageddon? Granted, that's been over a year ago, but this is still only a demo with a distribution of 100 copies, and the sources in the German article are far from the significant coverage asked for by WP:NALBUMS. Amalthea 11:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
well, its the first release by one of the biggest black metal bands, Pure Holocaust refers with its name to the demo, it has a "kult"-status and its limitation to 100 copies is in fact no matter, because its avaiable on the internet. (i dont really know your guidelines in englisch wikipedia, i just noticed there isnt an artikle about pure fucking armageddon)--Itsnotuitsme (talk) 12:09, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
WP:NALBUMS says "Demos, mixtapes, bootlegs, promo-only, and unreleased albums are in general not notable; however, they may be notable if they have significant independent coverage in reliable sources", and that's usually the line followed in AfDs. I won't mind if you try, of course, but I'm afraid that your effort will likely be for nothing if you can't provide such independent, significant coverage. Your call. Amalthea 12:28, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
ok, i let it, then. --Itsnotuitsme (talk) 12:42, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Not done because there is already an English article at the title Aalen, and history merging the two together would create issues with overlapping edits. Also, I doubt it would work, not only because of the number of revisions, but also their size. Graham87 04:04, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello, this more a question than a request: Yesterday there was startet the article Hilde Zimmermann. There are some elements copied from die article in de.wikipedia, and some not.

  1. Wouldn't it be better, from a long-time perspective, to import full article?
  2. Is it maybe already necessary, because of copied elements (see also hidden syntax) without declaring author(s)?

--Hæggis (talk) 00:55, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

If only some of the article has been translated, I'd say that the {{Translated page}} template should be placed on the talk page. A full import would be overkill in this case, IMO. Graham87 07:41, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

I can't import the whole history because it would cause overlapping edits in the English article, and just importing the versions up to May 2010 might be a bit strange; it's a much longer version than the current one, so I guess that you didn't use it for translation. Also, I really don't want to delete anything from the history of the English 389th Infantry Division (Germany) article. Graham87 14:30, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I can't do that, because the history would overlap. Graham87 01:43, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
So I need to specify another location like User:Ftiercel/Origami techniques and then ask for a merge, right? Ftiercel (talk) 04:19, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
I don't think there's any need for that, either. If you want to merge the Wikipedia article with the page in Wikibooks, just do the merge and note it in the edit summary. Alternatively I could import the Wikibooks history to somewhere like Talk:Origami techniques/Wikibooks history. But a *history merge* would not be appropriate. Graham87 15:05, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
OK, so let's import it here. Ftiercel (talk) 20:17, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, I should have noticed this before, but it's not even possible to directly import history from Wikibooks. The only way to do it is by importing from Wikibooks to Commons, from Commons to Meta, then from Meta to here. See this section of the talk page. Alternatively, I could file a bug on Bugzilla to enable direct importation from Wikibooks, but this may take a while to be processed. Graham87 03:56, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Is it compliant to the license if I add the content to this page and put a link to the original in the log? Ftiercel (talk) 18:32, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that'd be fine. Graham87 07:20, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
