12/12/12 (film)

Page was apparently deleted due to the poor quality of the film, which should not be relevant to the existence of the page. -TheGhostWolfe (talk) 14:17, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

@TheGhostWolfe: Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. The reason stated oon the PROD was "The film exists and that's all that can be said about it" - i.e., not that it was a bad film, but that the lack of independent sources about it make its notability doubtful. Maybe you can add some. JohnCD (talk) 16:11, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Kylie Jenner

Page was deleted and redirected even though there's a consensus not to see Talk:Kylie Jenner#Requested redirect -Naue7 (talk) 21:42, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello. I see little in the way of consensus at that small discussion. The page was not deleted and redirected, it was only redirected. The fact that it has not been deleted can be seen by it having an intact page history. The redirection can thus be reverted by anyone. Additional consensus can also be sought by drawing more people to the discussion, but I don't see much point to that as ultimately this should be expanded (definitely not by me) – because Kylie Jenner is massively, inarguably notable, being written about in detail i thousands and thousands of reliable secondary sources. That is, if someone is willing to take the time to do so properly for this BLP, which requires high quality sourcing. The people at the talk page discussion are confused. They appear to be substituting some idea of gravitas with notability, and making assessments from what appears in the article rather than what appears in the world. The objective standard is met so completely here, that there's little to discuss about it (there are 132 news articles mentioning her found through Google News that were posted over the last 24 hours; of course we require substantive coverage, but I am just giving that statistic to set the stage for just how absurd is the idea that there is any notability question here). This is also notwithstanding the 2015 AfD discussion, which is an apparent incredible failure of anyone to actually look to evidence.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:44, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen/Archive

This page should not have been deleted and rather should have been marked as historical. Now, archiving is done on Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen, now called Requests for history merge. I am planning to create an archive of the content that was removed from the page before archiving began (through the page history). Eastern News Agency

Please undelete. OTRS permission. Ticket#2015050410008377 -Willy Weazley 14:35, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Comment: From the website's footer: © 2015 Copyright Eastern News Agency All Rights reserved except Wikipedia - I don't believe that's acceptable, because it would be comparable to the owner of an image uploading to Commons and saying "it can only be used here". No one would be then able to re-use the text in the article. But I'll let a more knowledgeable editor make a call on that. The bigger problem here is the obvious COI and the disruptive re-creation of the article under multiple titles. It's not even clear that the company meets WP:CORP to begin with. I'd recommend not restoring and have them go through AFC so someone can spot check the material. The idea that we can't write an article about a company without pasting in half their website is rather specious. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:28, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
"Wikipedia-only" is not an accepted license, fullstop. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:57, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
FTR, I had cut Enanews down to a stub without any of the copyrighted and promotional text, just before it was deleted - not sure if that's something that could be restored without the copyvios in the history. (I think the company is probably notable.) --bonadea contributions talk 21:16, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm not aware about the website. They released the content under cc-by-sa-3.0 at the OTRS Channel. Willy Weazley 22:23, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Is the ticket confirmed? There's a bit of concern at ANI over whether or not the ticket can be confirmed. I have no problem with restoring Bonadea's most recent edit at Enanews, though. If he's removed the promotional and (potentially) copyvio material then there's really not much to be worried about with that. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:02, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
@Tokyogirl79: Of course, I confirmed. You can ask another OTRS member besides me at the noticeboard too. Willy Weazley 16:04, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
The ticket does say that they released the content under CC-BY-SA 3.0 but it also says that they have exempted Wikipedia from their copyright as published on their website, that appears to be the copyright notice on the bottom of their website that still says All Rights Reserved except Wikipedia. That is not the same as CC-BY-SA 3.0. The OTRS ticket contradicts itself. -- GB fan 19:54, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
Commons allows image files from Flickr which are licensed as All Rights Reserved at flickr.com, and release at OTRS as CC-BY-SA. But anyway, since aparently it won't be restored, I'll reject the permission. I'll tell the original editor that he might create the page using their content as reference, not a full text. Kind regards. Willy Weazley 20:05, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
I am in no way an expert on permissions. I just went to look at the ticket and reported back here what I saw. If it is permissible to use then someone can undelete it. The OTRS ticket looks very ambiguous what they actually mean because it says two seperate things in the same ticket. CC-BY-SA 3.0 and what it says on the website all rights reserved except for Wikipedia. -- GB fan 20:16, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
  • I've looked at some of the material. It's pretty promotional in nature, so it's a Done for that alone. I've left some notes on the user's page about all of this and I've recommended that they create this in AfC from scratch. The reason for that is that they really didn't see how the original material was seen as promotional, so I firmly believe that they'd inadvertently leave promotional material in the article. I have no problem with the non-promotional, non-copyvio version being restored, but I would rather let the editor use this as a learning experience. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:31, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

elimelech biderman

I'm thoroughly disappointed by the deletion of the biography of one of the most world renowned Jewish Orthodox Rabbi's in todays generation! After seeing it was deleted by CactusWriter, I understand a little more. He obviously has ZERO knowledge of the Jewish Rabbis, and thus felt its his "obligation" to delete my article. Well, I ask him, before he goes all easy on the delete button, he should do some minimal research if the article is accurate or not. In my case, its %100 accurate!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bfgny (talkcontribs) 17:11, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

You should comment on content, not other users- being an admin, I'm sure they know when an article doesn't meet Wikipedia criteria. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:15, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Note: This page was deleted under speedy deletion criterion G11, indicating an page that was irredeemably promotional or blatant advertising. Note that G11 deletions are more an issue with the tone of the page as opposed to its sources or formatting. As articles deleted under G11 need to be rewritten from scratch, they will not be undeleted here or anywhere else; try contacting the deleting administrator (CactusWriter (talk · contribs)) in order to be emailed a copy of the article as it stood at time of deletion. We do NOT require admins to be omnidisciplinary, on the grounds that this is impossible to enforce or cause. And just because an article is "%100 accurate" [sic] does not mean it is immune to a G11 (advertising) deletion, which is more about tone than content. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:52, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
  • I also have to note that being known within one's religion does not automatically mean that someone passes Wikipedia's notability guidelines for people, which is incredibly strict. Being known and/or respected doesn't translate into notability because ultimately you can only prove notability via coverage in independent and reliable sources per WP:RS. Sometimes this can make it more likely that coverage will exist, but it's never a guarantee. Case in point: I used to take classes under a Jewish Rabbi (Jack Spiro) that is incredibly well thought of, holds a high position within the college, and has published multiple works. However at the same time he just barely falls short of notability guidelines because there just isn't any coverage of him out there and his position at VCU isn't considered the type that would fall under WP:ACADEMIC. (I may doublecheck this just in case, but offhand there really isn't that much out there.) Offhand I'll give you the same advice someone gave me: since you clearly hold a strong emotional tie to this person you may not be the best person to write an article about the individual because you will be more likely to insert positive, promotional material in the article and you may see more notability than there actually is. When you have a conflict of interest it can also be extremely easy to take the article's rejection personally. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:08, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

. I am declining your request for the moment. Six minutes after posting this, you created a draft on her at the prior title that had been deleted Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Nishka Lulla. That has now been deleted by me as a blatant copyright infringement of the content from here. On a slightly ironic note, had you simply made your request without this recreation, I would have undeleted the original draft, uncontroversially (which was not AFAICT a copyright violation). However, now that you posted what you did you have indicated by your actions that you might do the same if this was undeleted. Recently discovered that an internet troll had this page deleted. I have attached the content relevant to prove the articles authenticity.

Timothy Hanson is a Visual Effects Supervisor currently at Zoic Studios in Los Angeles, CA best known for his work in Avengers: Age of Ultron. [1] He has previously worked for studios like Bad Robot, MPC[2], Mirada[3], The Mill[4][5], Method Studios, and Google to name a few. In addition to his numerous awards and nominations, Tim's work has also been featured in 3D Artist Magazine. [6]

Tim founded the popular VFX blog "Maxdepth" in 2014, and the site has been featured in numerous issues of 3D Artist Magazine. [7][8][9]

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request.. I will decline your new draft, as there is no point having two parallel versions. Please update the actual article, but check out WP:Notability and WP:Notability (people), noting that the references required are those which show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Of those you list, some do no mention him at all, one has his name in a long list, and the last few are all about the same interview. Beware of WP:BOMBARDMENT. The article may still be nominated at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute. JohnCD (talk) 17:01, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
Comment: Every link refers to Tim directly, be sure to look in the "Credits" as each of these links were intended to verify the statements of this article which is the point of the <REF> tag no? As for the final few you mentioned as being about the same article this is an incorrect statement. Each ref was for a different issue of the magazine containing his work proving the assertion "numerous articles" as his work has appeared in 6 issues to be exact. As for names in a long list, that is how the visual effects industry works. There are hundreds of people that work to make a single film or television show, there are only a handful that achieve supervisor status much less on a film such as The Avengers one of the top grossing films of all time. I would think IMDB a site that has their content submitted by the studio would be a trusted source, but you can also go see the movie and look for his name in the credits.

Not done. It would be a disservice to you to undelete here and thereby indicate that there is any way this content could ever be acceptable as an encyclopedia article, thus leading you down a path of wasting your valuable time in attempting to modify it and resubmit it, when it will never pass muster. I will, however, gladly email it to you if there is an issue of you not having a copy of what you wrote. (You would need to log in to your account and then enable you email at Special:Preferences.) Note: Surely you jest! No page's ever existed under that title (or any reasonable permutation of it)! Are you sure that the page's title is correct, including the namespace prefixes (User:, Wikipedia talk:, etc.)? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 18:45, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
@Ontarioboy: I can't find it either, and (after googling) I have tried QiShen YiQi and Qi-Shen-Yi-Qi as well. If you don't know the exact title, do you know the username of the account that created the page? JohnCD (talk) 19:52, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Not done. The text can be seen on an IMDb page clearly labelled "Copyright © 1990-2015 IMDb.com, Inc." Wikipedia can't accept it on the basis of an assertion from someone on the end of a wire that the rights belong to him. The way to make a copyright release is described at WP:Donating copyrighted materials, but it would be simpler to rewrite in your own words. JohnCD (talk) 14:01, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Note: This page has been deleted multiple times as an abandoned draft article. As Articles for creation, the Draft space, and user subpages are not to be used to indefinitely host material inappropriate for the encyclopedia, what exactly would you do to help make the draft get accepted as an article? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:27, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

This scripting language exists and is perfectly valid. It is used everyday for multiple purposes. There was zero reason to delete it, except to discredit the achievements of its creator and those who use it everyday in a variety of ways. It is even one of the formats / syntaxes supported and recognized by GitHub. The language is fully documented on its own website at http://www.compuphase.com/pawn/pawn.htm -151.224.180.83 (talk) 00:53, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. No one denies it exists, the discussion merely came to the conclusion that it is not notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 00:57, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

  • Not done The page was fairly promotional in how it was written and once that content is removed the only part left was this: "SafeMarkets.org[1] is a website with information on toxics in cosmetics, BPA, flame retardants, PVC, phthalates, building materials, and other products, with links out to the various groups leading data collection, policy work, and general info on toxic chemicals in products. It was put together by the National Work Group for Safe Markets, a work group of the Coming Clean environmental health collaborative." You can create a new AfC draft, but this was too promotional to really restore. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 08:47, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Juan Eligio Olvera Rabiela

We believe that delegating the page was a mistake. The subject is an eminent professor, researcher and Mexican scientist that passed away in 2011, therefore, it cannot be a page for self promotion as stated by the gentleman that deleated the page. Many articles, scientific works, biographies published on the Internet may testify to this effect by typing "Olvera Rabiela". We believe that Dr. olvera deserves a page as before and would be thankful if you restore it to public view. and then click the "Save page" button below -Cronistaeditor (talk) 04:27, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Oh, it was deleted on May 9th for "promotional" content present for a month. I guess that's the es.wp equivalent to PROD? I didn't even bother clicking on the redlink. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 07:09, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Advocacy ducks

Advocacy Ducks was a essay on a new subject. The essay was deleted CSD G4, but a essay on a diffrent subject should not have been deleted under that rule. The essay that was deleted by discussion was COI Ducks, a different essay on a different subject. COI Ducks dealt with COI not advocacy, and Advocacy Ducks does not deal with COI. If the nominator believed this essay should be deleted there should be a new deletion discussion for the new article. A section on the talk page of this essay has started over this deletion [1] AlbinoFerret 21:16, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Cantillation melodies

Following files were transfered to Commons, then speedily deleted at en:wp per WP:F8, and subsequently deleted at Commons (more about this below) with the result that a couple of files are now gone (example):

The transfered files at Commons were mass-deleted in a sock-puppet case (see here and here for more information) which is unrelated to the user who uploaded the original files at en:wp. As it currently stands, it appears best to restore these files at en:wp. These files were originally uploaded by Xyz7890. Please check in the deleted contributions of this user if I have overlooked one of these files. Thanks, AFBorchert (talk) 22:16, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
