Guidelines for making a request

[edit]

This page, part of the Guild of Copy Editors, deals exclusively with articles that are to become Featured Article Candidates in the near future, and aims to help nominators satisfy Criterion 1a of the Featured Article Criteria. Volunteers here will aim to advise nominators on whether the nominated article meets criterion 1a, and to assist the nominator in bringing the article up to the required standard if it does not currently meet the criterion. Please watchlist this page so that you can respond to feedback from copy-editors.

Articles should be nominated at the main requests page if they are not likely to be Featured Article Candidates in the near future.

To make a request, use the following format:

===[[Articlename]]===
Comments ~~~~

Please put new requests at the bottom. Completed requests will be moved to an archive.

Guidance for copy editors

[edit]
  • Note that Criterion 1a is notoriously difficult to fulfil, and less experienced copy editors may wish to watch a more experienced copy-editor before answering requests here.
  • Any feedback is helpful—please provide whatever commentary you can. Comments can be placed under the article's heading on this page, though extended commentary may be better placed on the article's talk page.
  • The input of multiple copy-editors can often be beneficial, so proofreading an article after a copy-edit is encouraged.
  • You may wish to add {{GOCE||name=UserName|date=date completed}} to the talk page of completed articles.
