Usage

[edit]

The {{WikiProject Mammals}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

{{WikiProject Mammals
|small=
|importance= (High, Mid, Low, NA)
|class= (FA, A, GA, B, Start, Stub, List, Cat, or Template)
|A-Class=
|attention=
|needs-taxobox=
|needs-photo=
|needs-audio=
<!-- Task forces  -->
|Monotremes=
|Primates=
|Rodents=
|Mustelids=
|Pocket-pet=
<!-- Task force importance ratings -->
|MonotremeImp=
|PrimatesImp=
|RodentsImp
|MustelidsImp=
|PocketpetImp=
}}

General parameters:

  • small – "yes" if the banner should be rendered in its miniature size; this should be used sparingly and only on crowded talk pages for the time being.
  • class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
  • importance – a rating of the article's importance; see the assessment department for more details.
  • A-Class – indicates the status of the article's A-Class review, if any; see the review department for more details.(not currently active, created in the event it does develop later)
  • attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; see Category:Mammal articles needing attention for more details on when this should be used.

Task forces:

Subproject importance ratings:

  • MonotremeImp - a rating of the article's importance to the Monotremes and Marsupials project; see the assessment department for more details.
  • PrimatesImp - a rating of the article's importance to the Primates project; see the assessment department for more details.
  • RodentsImp – - a rating of the article's importance to the Rodents project; see the assessment department for more details.
  • MustelidsImp - a rating of the article's importance to the Mustelids work group; see the assessment department for more details.
  • PocketpetsImp - a rating of the article's importance to the Pocket pets work group; see the assessment department for more details.

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
