Worlds is the debut studio album by American electronic music producer Porter Robinson, released on August 12, 2014, by Astralwerks. Initially known for his heavier bass-centric production, Robinson became increasingly dissatisfied with the electronic dance music (EDM) genre, believing it limited his artistic expression. Following the release of his 2012 single "Language", Robinson decided to prioritize aesthetic and emotional qualities in his work, taking inspiration from media that evoked nostalgia for his childhood and integrating elements taken from anime, films, and sounds from 1990s video games. The album was promoted with four singles and later a tour (pictured) in North America and Europe. Worlds was well-received by most critics, who praised it as innovative and forecasted a promising career for Robinson, though others felt the record lacked coherence or was unexciting. The album has been retrospectively noted for its impact on the EDM scene. (Full article...)

Tyrannosaurus
[edit]Is a fossil discovery noteworthy? Is there something special about this fossil? RickK 06:10, Aug 5, 2004 (UTC)
- That's the most complete skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex ever found. Is this significant enough to be included on the MainPage ? I'd say it's a weak case. -- PFHLai 18:57, 2005 August 9 (UTC)
- The History Channel currently seems to think it's noteworthy that it is the current lead story on its "This Day in History" page for Aug 12.[1] I just re-added it here to replace another item that needs cleanup – the only two reasons I picked that one first is because of The History Channel page, and an excuse to bold and feature the current FA Tyrannosaurus. 2023 rationale
[edit]- 1099 is included due to wanting to have at least one not from the 20th century
- Avoided Fort Andross as the article was featured on June 16
- Avoided quagga since it would have been the 4th consecutive time it has appeared, despite it being it's 90th anniversary
- Avoided the 1914 and 1944 entry as to avoid having a war heavy day since I included the 1099 entry on the Battle of Ascalon

- Hi HeartGlow30797. Thanks again for working in this area. Couple of comments - Dumelow (talk) 10:09, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- Abraham Zacuto is undercited in general and I couldn't see a citation for the birth date?
- For 2023 we have started featuring four borths/deaths a day, so another should be added. I am trying to improve our coverage of non-American and non-European figures so would be good if one of these is eligible - Dumelow (talk) 10:09, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notes on this one! I have removed Abraham Zacuto. In my off time, I have been trying to find new articles in general to feature here. Heart (talk) 01:32, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- User:Dumelow, I have completed them. Thanks so much for the feedback as it helps me improve! Heart (talk) 01:37, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
