Formatting Citations

[edit]

Hello. I am new here. I have a question about the formating of citations. Recently, when editting various articles on bowed instruments, I have noticed an inconsistency in form. In the article I created entitled "Bass violin," a full bibliograpy is included in a section called "References," preceded by a section called "Notes," containing abbreviated inline citations. In contrast, when I went to cite a source in the article Double bass, a much longer article, it contained one section called "References," containing a mix of abbreviated and long-form in-line citations. Although my search in it was not extensive, the Wikipedia:Manual of Style did not seem to prefer one method over the other. Does the Musical Instruments WikiProject prefer that reference lists are somewhat uniform?BassHistory (talk) 23:24, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
