The page states that the spanish sarah is now part of the sarawi arab republic... though it isn’t. The part should be: Now part of: Morocco Waffleduffle (talk) 11:57, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Waffleduffle, Morocco occupies ~75%, the SADR controls the rest. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 22:47, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Moroccan existence in sahara

[edit]

The article mention that On bases of the treaty between Morocco and Spain of 1 March 1767 , Morocco had no claim on region in 1767, This treaty, according to Article 18 of which Sherifian sovereignty extended beyond the Wad Noun, further south into the neighbouring region of Sakiet El Hamra [1]

Morocco has resisted allowing a referendum to be held, and has continued to offer its people jobs in controlled territory.

Morocco didn't resisted referendum , issue is who can and cannot vote , While for the Polisario see the Saharawis that should be allowed to vote in the referendum are only those included in the 1974 Spanish census, for Morocco all Saharawis with family or blood ties to the region should be allowed to vote, irrespective of whether they were included in the Spanish census , This position was shared by 1991 then-UN Secretary-General, Javier Perez de Cuellar. For Perez de Cuellar, the Spanish census of 1974 could not be the only basis for a referendum,. He argued that the Sahrawis’ nomadic way of life, with constant movement of individuals and families across national borders, whether to flee colonialism and conflict, for economic reasons or to seek education, the Spanish census could not include all Saharawis. Even the Spaniards admitted that their census did not reach all of the Saharan territory, and many tribal chiefs have said that thousands of Saharawis and Saharan refugees were omitted from the census

And Morocco keep "offering" people job as part of administration of territory , same with other region in morocco , it's not settlement scheme — Preceding unsigned comment added by ABIDALAA (talkcontribs)

@ABIDALAA: It 100% is a settlement scheme and is on occupied territory, which is in direct violation of international law. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 00:48, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Emailuser/Koavf and M: even if you want believe they are , they aren't , Morocco run territory same as any other part of Morocco including job offering , the fact is that they are more jobs offering in any other region then in western sahara is prove of my point [2] , also as if it's occupation or not , the Fourth Hague Convention of 18 August 1907 (H.IV) , clearly doesn't fit in western sahara , and nature of dispute is dispute on sovereignty , word occupation was never used on UNSC rapport on western sahara since 1991

Thank you Koavf. I asked about the Spanish Sahara, and you found about the area of the Western Sahara. Does the area overlap by 100%? Bar (talk) 06:15, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
בר, Yes. This is pretty clear from the article, is it not? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 06:19, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
