Season chronology

The first season of Big Brother premiered on SSG TV. It featured 23 housemates, and ran for 161 days.

Greggy Mark Mestidio was crowned winner of the season. Carl Marvin Clores was the runner-up, while Seldian Bascos finished in third place. At the finale, it was announced that Big Brother was officially renewed for a second season.

Overview

Following the success of the final season of OLGAnian Big Brother (VIP Xtreme), presenter Miguel Angelo Basinillo announced that the OLGAnian Big Brother series will be rebooted to simply "Big Brother" to accommodate the series' expansion to ordinary Capizeños. Another special season of OLGAnian Big Brother was planned following this season, but it was canceled due to the show's reboot.

Auditions

Auditions were also reopened to former OLGAnian Big Brother housemates, as well as those aged 13 and up who have lived in the province of Capiz for at least a year.

Prizes

The winner will receive ₱1,000,000, while the runner-up will receive ₱250,000, and the third placer will receive ₱50,000.

Format

Each week, housemates must nominate two other housemates for eviction. The top three (or more if there is a tie) housemates with the most nominations will face eviction. On eviction night, one of them will be evicted. However, Big Brother has the power to implement special nomination processes, instant nominations, or disrupt the nomination process (due to a pending task or challenge) if necessary or as part of a twist.

Twists

• Launch Night Twist: All housemates had to rank themselves from most to least responsible in the house. The top two housemates will receive immunity and a killer nomination to a housemate of their choice, while the bottom three will be automatically nominated for the first eviction.
• Empty House: The housemates were greeted by an almost empty house, save for the TV in the living room. The housemates were tasked with purchasing furniture and appliances for the house using the coins they had gathered during their sequester period.
• Special Nominations: One housemate can increase their nomination points from two and one to three and two. This power can only be used once per week and will be available after the evictee has been announced.
• Intruders: Three new housemates entered the house on Day 36, and two housemates entered the house on Day 50.
• The Final Vote: Enabled in Week 10, the most recent evictee has one last chance to send two nomination points to a housemate of his or her choice during the next nomination round.
• The Red Phone: Enabled in Week 14, the Red Phone was placed next to the confession room and had the potential to unleash twists that could change the game.

Housemates

Eighteen housemates entered the house on Day 1. Three new housemates (John Loyd Corros, Kaye Marie Andong, and Jewel Valles) entered the house on Day 36. The last two new housemates entered the house on Day 50 (Ahron Ortiz & Greggy Mark Mestidio).

The Red Phone

On Week 14, the Red Phone was placed beside the confession room, and it has the potential to reveal a positive or negative twist to the person who answers the call. Housemates are only allowed to answer the phone when it rings, and if it goes unanswered after five rings, the entire house will be punished. The Red Phone was disabled on Week 17.

Notes

• ^1 : On launch night, the housemates were tasked to rank themselves according to the most and least responsible in the house.   Carl and Gevelyn were immune after they were selected as the most responsible housemates. They then nominated Vince for eviction.   Evelyn, Ranz, and Thomie were automatically nominated after they were chosen as the least responsible housemates.
• ^2 : On Week 10, the Final Vote was enabled, in which the latest evictee has the last chance to send two nomination points to another housemate of their choice. As the latest evictee, Christel gave her Final Vote to Greggy. However, it was annulled when Greggy won the Head of Household challenge.
• ^3 : In Week 13, a group challenge was implemented among the housemates, with the winning group receiving immunity from the next eviction round and the other receiving an automatic nomination. To account for the difference in the number of original and intruder housemates, one original housemate was assigned to the intruder group. The original housemates were known as Team Red, and the intruders as Team Yellow.
• ^4 :   In a surprise twist, the winning group saved two of the losing group's members from eviction. As the winning team, Team Red saved Greggy & Ranz from eviction.
• ^5 : The Red Phone was introduced in Week 14, and this week, the housemates received two calls. The messages given were as follows:
