Season chronology

The second season of Big Brother premiered on SSG TV. It featured 29 housemates and ran for 161 days.

After 161 days of competition, Season 1 runner-up Carl Marvin Clores won the season against runner-up James Matthew Ala-al. Nicolas Muzones finished in third place. At the finale, it was announced that Big Brother would be renewed for a third season, with "Power Play" as the season's name.

Overview

Auditions

Due to the overwhelming success of the rebooted season, auditions for the second season were opened during the penultimate episode of the previous season. Auditions were reopened to former OLGAnian Big Brother housemates, aged 16 and up who have lived in the province of Capiz for at least four years.

Unlike the previous season which did not release the schedule of the airings of the show, producers posted the schedule of the show's airing every week (note that the main show does not air every Saturday):

Prizes

The winner will receive ₱1,000,000, while the runner-up will receive ₱500,000, the third placer will receive ₱250,000, and the fourth placer will receive ₱100,000.

Hosts

Miguel Angelo Basinillo returned as the main host, and Stanley Fegarido was added to the roster as the show's co-host.

Format

Each week, housemates must nominate two other housemates for eviction. The top three (or more if there is a tie) housemates with the most nominations will face eviction. On eviction night, one of them will be evicted. However, Big Brother has the power to implement special nomination processes, instant nominations, or disrupt the nomination process (due to a pending task or challenge) if necessary or as part of a twist.

Twists

• Save and Replace: Starting this season, the Head of House can save one nominee from eviction, but must also name a replacement nominee. However, Big Brother has the sole discretion to revoke the ability if the Head of House discusses power with the housemates or commits any other violations during their reign.
• The Final Vote: Carried over from the previous season, the most recent evictee has one last chance to send two nomination points to a housemate of his or her choice during the next nomination round.
• Intruders: Seven more housemates entered the house on the following weeks.
• Special Nominations: Carried over from the previous season, one housemate can increase their nomination points from two and one to three and two. This power can only be used once per week and will be available after the evictee has been announced.
• Lightning Nominations: Each housemate has the opportunity to send another housemate to eviction without the chance of being saved by the Head of House. They are only allowed to use this power once, starting with its implementation in Week 5.
• All In: Implemented in Week 12, all housemates who received nominations will face safety challenges in order to avoid eviction.
• Wildcard Housemates: On Day 101, two returning housemates from the previous season returned as replacements for Cherrylou Buday, who walked the day before due to prior commitments. They were once again eligible to win both the season and the cash prize.
• Relatives: Before the season is over, the relatives of the housemates in play will compete for prizes.

Housemates

Eighteen housemates entered the house on launch night, while the last two entered on Day 2.

Seven housemates entered in the following weeks; Mishka Louise Nicolas entered the house on Day 28 as Shayne's replacement. Two new housemates, Marc Joseph Sunio and Raymond Delfin, entered the house on Day 37, while the last four housemates, Angel Therese Dasas, Marielle Lozada, Nicolas Muzones, and Philip Jude Valencia entered the house on Day 49.

On Day 101, two returning housemates from the previous season returned as replacements for Cherrylou Buday, who walked the day before due to prior commitments. They were revealed to be Carl Marvin Clores and Kurt Austin Rivera, who were the season's runner-up and 7th placer, respectively.

Relatives

On Day 113, the relatives of the ten housemates in play entered the house to compete for prizes over a two-week period. The winner of the final eviction vote will receive ₱300,000, a house, and a three-week vacation for two. Each week, three rounds were completed, with nominations beginning on Day 114 and evictions taking place on Day 115. The cycle is repeated three times per week until the game concludes on Day 125, when the winner is announced, and whoever receives the most public votes as their favorite visitor wins the prizes mentioned, and their representative becomes Head of House for the next round.

All In

On Week 12, a special twist known as "All In" was implemented; housemates who were on the list of nominations were included in the list of nominees for that week, regardless of their point standing. All nominees will face safety challenges until three remain for the public vote, after which one will be evicted.

At the beginning of the week, eleven nominees were announced: Cherrylou, Clarence, Dia, Eliana, James, John, Joyce, Marc, Nicolas, Raj, and Ria. As a first twist, the reigning Head of House Raymond was tasked with saving one of the nominees, and he chose his sister, Ria. The remaining ten nominees were put through four safety challenges to determine the three nominees who would be evicted, with two being saved in each of the challenges.

Nomination history

The first name listed in each nomination table receives two points, while the second name receives one. However, it is three and two for the Special Nomination user, who is highlighted in light orange. The replacement nominee chosen by the Head of House is highlighted in italics at the "Up for eviction" row. Lightning Nominations were enabled in Week 5, allowing each housemate to give one automatic nomination to a housemate of their choice, with no chance of being saved by the Head of House. Each housemate can only use the power once. A housemate's lightning nomination is highlighted in bold. The Special Nomination power was temporarily disabled on Weeks 8, 9, 12, 17, 18 (except for Days 118 and 125), and 19. During Day 118, only one housemate and relative are only allowed to use the Special Nominations.

Weeks 1-16

• ^1 : On Day 7, Demi cast her Final Vote for Clarence.
• ^2 : On Day 14, Josie cast her Final Vote for Shayne. It was later nullified as Shayne walked a day later. She then changed her Final Vote to Dia.
• ^3 : Shayne walked on the morning of Day 16 because she couldn't handle the pressures of the game after receiving the most nominations in the first round. Her votes were then considered invalid. If Shayne had continued, Jonnijon would have faced eviction.
• ^4 : On Day 21, Mariel cast her Final Vote for Eliana.
• ^5 : On Day 28, Rhon cast his Final Vote for Jonnijon.
• ^6 : Mishka did not cast her final vote for this week. Her nominations, as well as the double eviction nominees from that week, were carried over to the following week due to a twist by Big Brother.
• ^7 : This week, there were no nominations, and all housemates were eligible for eviction. In addition, two housemates were evicted during the same week.
• ^8 : Mishka, Erlyn, and Jonnijon casted their respective final votes for Joyce, Al, and Marc. As a twist, their Final Votes were turned into a Lightning Nomination.
• ^9 : As Head of House, Cherrylou had the power to automatically nominate two housemates for eviction, joining Al, Joyce, and Marc. She was also ineligible to use the Save and Replace power.
• ^10 : On Day 49, Andro cast his Final Vote for Eliana.
• ^11 : On Day 56, Angel cast her Final Vote for Nicolas.
• ^12 : On Day 63, Philip cast his Final Vote for Marielle.
• ^13 : On Day 70, Marielle cast her Final Vote for Dia.
• ^14 : Due to the large number of nominees (a four-way tie between second place and two Lightning Nomination nominees), the eviction was divided into separate parts, with the most percentage of votes received in the first five rounds being saved and the evictee determined in the final round.
• ^15 : On Day 77, Al casted his Final Vote for Ivanne. It was carried over to the next week's round of nominations.
• ^16 : This week was a "All In" week, which meant that all housemates who received nominations (excluding the Final Vote) would become nominees for the week. See the "All In" section for more information.
• ^17 : As a starting twist for the week, Head of House Raymond was tasked to save one of the initial nominees to be saved: he chose Ria.
• ^18 : On Day 91, Ivanne casted her Final Vote for Raj.
• ^19 : On Day 98, Ria casted her Final Vote for Eliana.
• ^20 : Cherrylou walked on Day 100 due to prior commitments.
• ^21 : Two wildcard housemates, Carl and Kurt, entered the house as wildcard housemates on Day 101 to replace Cherrylou.
• ^22 : On Day 105, Eliana casted her Final Vote for Nicolas.

Relatives (Days 113-126)

• ^23 : On Day 113, the remaining ten housemates' family members entered the house. Nominations for the relatives' eviction began at noon on Day 121, followed by evictions a day later, nominations a day later, and eviction again the next day, and so on until Day 133, when the relatives gameplay ends and regular nominations resume.
• ^24 : For this round, the housemates nominated the relatives they wanted evicted from the house.
• ^25 : For this round, relatives nominated each other for eviction from the house.
• ^26 : For this round, both housemates and relatives voted for the relative they wanted to evict from the house; the relative with the fewest save votes will be evicted alongside their housemate representative.
• ^27 : Aside from the housemate & relative eviction, one relative was also evicted during this round.
• ^28 : This is a double relative eviction, meaning that two relatives were evicted from the house at the same time.
• ^29 : The public was asked to vote for their favorite visitor. The visitor with the most votes was declared the winner and awarded prizes, as well as the Head of House title for their representative.
• ^30 : As Diana was voted by the public as their favorite visitor, Kurt automatically became the new Head of Household until the next week.

Weeks 19-Final

• ^31 : On Day 124, Raj and Marc casted their respective Final Votes for Carl and Nicolas, respectively.
• ^32 : On Week 19, all evicted housemates (including those who walked or were ejected) had the opportunity to nominate.
• ^33 : On Day 133, Clarence casted his Final Vote for Carl.
• ^34 : On Day 140, Kurt casted his Final Vote for Raymond.
• ^35 : James became the first finalist after winning the Head of Household competition, with Carl, Lawrence, Nicolas, and Raymond being nominated for eviction.
• ^36 : The public voted for the housemate they wanted to win Big Brother 2.
