Season chronology

The third season of Big Brother subtitled Power Play and stylized as Big Brother 3: Power Play premiered on SSG TV. It featured 16 housemates and ran for 100 days. This is the first season to include a subtitle in its name.

After 100 days, Ralph Elliz Billones was the winner of the season. Brent Adrian Baltazar was the runner-up while Christian Jade Dacles finished in third place. At the finale, it was announced that Big Brother was renewed for a fourth season by SSG TV. Four months later, it was revealed that the season's subtitle would be "Game On".

Overview

Auditions

Due to the overwhelming success of the two previous seasons, auditions for the third season were opened during the penultimate episode of the previous season. Auditions were reopened to former OLGAnian Big Brother and new housemates, aged 13 and up who have lived in the province of Capiz for at least four years.

Schedule & Airing

The third season's airing schedule will be the same as the previous season's, with the exception that the eviction show will air earlier and for longer, and all companion shows will air longer than the previous season.

Prizes

The winner will receive ₱2,000,000, while the runner-up will receive ₱1,000,000, and the third placer will receive ₱500,000.

Hosts

The show's main host, Miguel Angelo Basinillo, will return, as will its co-host, Stanley Fegarido. Greggy Mark Mestidio was added as the newest co-host alongside Stanley on Week 4. Carl Marvin Clores, the runner-up from Season 1 and winner of Season 2 and Erlyn Hermo, Season 2 evictee, will host the series' companion shows.

Format

Each week, a housemate, known as the "Power Player," will take charge of the game, wreaking havoc and potentially influencing gameplay. With the twists added, all housemates must still nominate two other housemates for eviction. The top three (or more if there is a tie) housemates who received the most nominations will be evicted. During eviction night, one or more of them will be evicted. However, Big Brother retains the authority to implement special nomination processes, instant nominations, or disrupt the nomination process (due to a pending task or challenge) if necessary or as part of a twist.

Twists

• Power Play: Each week, a housemate chosen by the producers or the public, depending on Big Brother's decision, will have the opportunity to influence gameplay by inserting twists before nominations and during gameplay.
  • Hosts' Choice: Each week, the three hosts will have the opportunity to give twists, rewards, or nominations to the housemates who they believe deserve that week's twist of choice, as determined by the producers.
• Special Nominations: Carried over from the previous season, one housemate can increase their nomination points from two and one to three and two. This power can only be used once per week and will be available after the evictee has been announced.
• Lightning Nominations: Each housemate has the opportunity to send another housemate to eviction without the chance of being saved by the Head of House.
• The Final Vote: Carried over from the previous season, the most recent evictee has one last chance to send two nomination points to a housemate of his or her choice during the next nomination round.
• Save and Replace: Also carried over from the previous season, the Head of House can save one nominee from eviction, but must also name a replacement nominee. However, Big Brother has the sole discretion to revoke the ability if the Head of House discusses power with the housemates or commits any other violations during their reign.

Power Play

Each week, one housemate will be designated as the Power Player, allowing him or her to cause havoc in the house and influence the overall gameplay by unleashing twists on any housemate of their choice or the entire house. The Power Player of the Week can be chosen by the producers, Big Brother, the public, the hosts, or the housemates themselves.

Rank-based Nominations

On Week 12, the six housemates were asked to rank their confidence in winning the season based on their strategies. The top two housemates with the most nomination points will face eviction. Because there was a tie for fourth place, the tied housemates were included in the list, along with the final ranking housemate.
