The fourth season of Big Brother (stylized as Big Brother 4: Game On!) premiered on SSG TV. It featured 24 housemates and ran for 133 days.
After 133 days, Yendrick dela Cruz was crowned winner against Timothy John Neilron Cervales. Roger Dave Gabucay and Cyrel Demonteverde finished as finalists. At the finale, it was announced that Big Brother was renewed by SSG TV for a fifth season. At the time, the season's name was unknown, and was revealed only three weeks after the finale; the season's subtitle would be "Code 525".
Overview
[edit]Auditions
[edit]Due to the overwhelming success of the previous season, auditions for the fourth season were opened during the penultimate episode of the previous season. Auditions were reopened to former OLGAnian Big Brother and new housemates, aged 13 and up who have lived in the province of Capiz for at least four years.

Hosts
[edit]All of the previous season's hosts will return for the new season. Stanley Fegarido and Greggy Mark Mestidio have been promoted to main hosts and may take over for Miguel Angelo Basinillo if the latter is absent.
Format
[edit]On Weeks 1 to 8, housemates must nominate two other housemates for eviction. The top three (or more if there is a tie) housemates with the most nominations will face eviction. On eviction night, one of them will be evicted. However, Big Brother has the power to implement special nomination processes, instant nominations, or disrupt the nomination process (due to a pending task or challenge) if necessary or as part of a twist. On Week 9, all housemates were nominated by default to mark the beginning of the new phase, which culminated in a double eviction the following week. On Week 10, a new format was introduced in which the Head of House was required to nominate two to four housemates for eviction, with the chosen nominees competing in a GameChanger competition to determine who would be saved and evicted that week. This will continue until four housemates remain, at which point the public will put them up for eviction again to determine the three housemates who will advance to the final.
Twists
[edit]- Special Nominations: Carried over from the previous season, one housemate can increase their nomination points from two and one to three and two. This power can only be used once per week and will be available after the evictee has been announced. This was only used on Weeks 3 to 8.
- Gamechanger Competition: Starting this season, nominees have the opportunity to save themselves from eviction through a challenge. No one will be saved if two or more nominees are tied.
- Save and Replace: Also carried over from the previous season, the Head of House can save one nominee from eviction, but must also name a replacement nominee. However, Big Brother has the sole discretion to revoke the ability if the Head of House discusses power with the housemates or commits any other violations during their reign.
- Co-Head of House Nominations: Starting on Week 10, the two Heads of House has the responsibility to choose two nominees for eviction. Those chosen will undergo a GameChanger competition to determine who would be saved and evicted that week.
Housemates
[edit]On launch night, 18 housemates entered the house. On Day 43, four houseguests (Alexander Aponesto, Ma. Kriznah Flores, Marriane Eddith Ocastro, and Roger Dave Gabucay) entered the house to take Henry Tecson's spot after he was ejected the day before due to violence and repeated violations. Two of them were chosen by the public to be official housemates. In a twist, the two unselected houseguests returned to replace the two evictees, Coleen Joy Villareal and Joseah Aperocho on Day 63. In addition, two more housemates (Clarisse Joy Valo and Janwin Cartujano) arrived that evening.

Notes
[edit]- ^ Henry was ejected on Day 42 due to violent reactions to being nominated again and repeated rule violations.
- ^ Four houseguests entered the house to take Henry's place after he was ejected the previous day. Out of the four housemates that entered, only two remained because they were chosen by the public to be official housemates.
- ^ All housemates were nominated by default to determine the 12 housemates who will move on to the next phase. This was a double eviction, as two housemates were evicted.
- ^ As a twist, Alexander and Ma. Kriznah, the two evicted late entrants, returned to replace the two evicted housemates during the open voting period.
