Big Brother is the fictional reality competition show broadcast by SSG TV. This version of the series features everyday people of the province of Capiz. Other important parts of the "Big Brother" series include the daily and weekly tasks, the confessional, and the voice that only says "Big Brother." Big Brother uses the phrases "Unveiling Life's True Drama" and "The Authenticity of Everyday Lives."

This series is a rebooted version of the OLGAnian Big Brother series that has dropped the name "OLGAnian".

Format

[edit]

It is based on the same concept as many other similar shows from other countries: a group of Filipinos offered to live in a house for a specified number of days.

The way people are eliminated off the show is completely different from how it was done in the original Dutch version. The "housemates" (as the players are known) decide which two (or sometimes more if there are ties or if Big Brother makes an automatic nomination) of their fellow housemates they want to get rid of at the start of the eviction process. After the nominees are chosen, the audience's opinions are considered. During the first week, viewers were asked to vote for who they wanted to stay in the house longer via SMS. The housemate with the fewest votes from viewers is eliminated. The person who receives the most votes from viewers in the final week wins the big prize package, which usually includes a house and lot, a car, a business contract, home goods, and a vacation. This person is referred to as the "Big Winner."
