Hi Soulbust, I've now completed my c/e. If the subject is most-commonly known as Rezz, that name should be used throughout the article except where you need to provide context. If the subject is most-commonly known as Rezazadeh, the article should be moved to that title, which currently redirects to Hossein Rezazadeh. Anyway, good luck with the article. You absolutely SHOULD NOT have done this split without even raising it on the talk page. Don't do something like this again. And archive your talk FFS. Johnbod (talk) 00:58, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnbod:
Why are you yelling? You could have gone ahead and started a civil discussion on the relevant articles' talk pages and ping me, instead of coming on to my talk page in this manner.
I'm not new here. So I can't say you're doing this, but nevertheless, you could have opened up this discussion differently. Also, not really sure you should outright tell someone they shouldn't do something that... *checks notes* ... is totally allowed, valid, and even encouraged to do on here (per WP:BOLD). My split was not disruptive, and is definitely sensible to do. The bronze and marble pieces are completely different pieces and each have substantial sourcing to support their own article.
On the split, how was it "incompetent" or "low quality" (as you stated on your edit summaries)? Because I didn't do the slight tweaks you made within the same day that I did the split? I fully intended on further editing article, but had to tend to some offline things today. I get that I did not utilize the word-for-word procedure listed here, but I left edit summaries explaining what was being split. Again, I intend to further edit the marble piece's article and fix linking issues that can arise after a split, as well as address steps 5 through 8 on that procedure.
"Archive your talk". If you're referring to my talk page, then uhhhh it already is. Oh and "FFS". That, paired with your "incompetent" and "low quality" comments, feel very snide in nature toward me. Will look past it since I really just want to focus on the actual article editing on here but didn't appreciate those comments. I would rather you just speak to me like a fellow volunteer editor, as we all are on this website (See WP:ETIQ and WP:DOOR).
I can see by your user page that you appreciate editing art/art history articles. So do I. So, try not to lose the plot on here. Gonna get to fixing those linking issues now, and after that, whether today or later in the week, continue any tweaking/cleaning-up of the articles (particularly the marble piece).
Soulbust (talk) 03:14, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Very unmoved by this! The "plot" here is try to get you not to do any more drastic changes to highly viewed pages without bothering to raise it on the talk page first. It's just comical that you say "You could have gone ahead and started a civil discussion on the relevant articles' talk pages and ping me"! If you think WP:BOLD encourages this sort of thing, you are very much mistaken. Someone else has already fixed the dozens of linking changes needed. Given the quality of what you left, please DON'T "continue any tweaking/cleaning-up of the articles". Please! Johnbod (talk) 02:04, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Johnbod Bruh. The marble piece page is (almost) entirely the exact same as it was before. I did a total split, and have just cleaned up some minor things. If you're upset about the quality of it, it is almost certainly something that was present in the marble piece's section on the previous article prior to me splitting it. It's actually one of the reasons I went for the split in the first place, as the information regarding the marble David can be improved a good amount.
It's subjective too, but I don't think <300 page views per day is "highly viewed". But that's irrelevant. WP:BOLD does in fact encourage this sort of thing, as per "This page in a nutshell: Go for it."
And I'll actually definitely continue to edit the marble piece article, and any other article I want to because anyone can, as long as it is constructive and aiming to improve the already-existing content. That's something I have regularly done over the years I've been on editing on here. It's rather insulting you try and demand me to not edit, and try to assert that demand based on "the quality of what [I] have left", as if that quality can't be improved through further edits.
Now do you have any objection to the actual split, content wise, because if not, then the change isn't so "drastic" is it? Just a straight-forward split. And if you do have an issue, then suggesting you start a discussion on the talk pages of the statues isn't so "comical" either? So if you do, go and reply to the topic I left on the bronze piece's talk page?
If you want to criticize that I didn't do all of the wikilinking fixes post-split, or that I was sloppy about it in other parts of the procedure, that's fine. It was late for me, had to deal with real-life responsibilities, and I figured I could address those things the next time I got online (which I did: talk pages now reflect that the split was made, have made some further clean-up edits, and also, while I do see that another editor handled a lot of the linking fixes, I actually did do some of that myself when I got back online).
But, again, do you have any issues with the content or are you just going to be unnecessarily mean to me on my talk page? Would rather you leave me alone if the latter. Thanks, Soulbust (talk) 04:36, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Very happy to leave you alone if there are no more messes cropping up on my watchlist. If there are, I may be BOLD, and complain. Johnbod (talk) 13:46, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Johnbod
You're not gonna intimidate me dude. I know the split I performed was not anything to talk to me like this over. For someone so experienced on this website, you sure seem to have forgotten WP:5P3 and WP:5P4.
"Messes cropping up". It was one split, dude. A split that again, has had its post-split technical considerations addressed, and one that you haven't actually raised a content-based issue with on either of the proper channels. Soulbust (talk) 19:27, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
