I have created this userpage with which I intend to start an article. It's something along the lines of New Hollywood. What's your opinion of it?  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 01:12, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Alaipayuthey (soundtrack)

Hi. Long time. Hope you are fine. I have written Alaipayuthey (soundtrack). The soundtrack article was not at all justified since years though it remains one of the best works of Rahman. I got motivated after seeing you and Ssven2 working on the article. So, I thought, let's write something about the soundtrack at least. Stayed awake whole night and wrote it. You all may edit, add or remove things because there may be glitches, obviously. :) Good morning. Arjann (talk) 11:25, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Magic Magic

I have fond memories of this film and it was the first tamil film which I had watched in theatre. Srivin (talk) 09:46, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Its 3D effects are better than that in most 3D films today. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:03, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
I was around 9 years when i saw this film in my hometown Madurai in 2003. I still watch this film whenever it is telecasted in Raj TV and also its Malayalam version in Asianet. As you said, 3D effects are better but only thing is unlike Kuttichathan (which was produced by the same company) this film lacked a good storyline and had only lesser special effects. Srivin (talk) 11:38, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Articles having GA potential

I just want to ask you a quick question — Which old Tamil film articles (1950s, 1960s) do you think have the potential to become a GA? Pavanjandhyala said that Aayirathil Oruvan and Enga Veettu Pillai have GA potential. I'm also guessing Ratha Kanneer. :) Thamizhan1994 (அப்போ பேசு) 00:42, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

All three articles have great potential, if you are able to find more sources. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:21, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Ratha Kanneer is not a good idea, Thamizhan. However i don't want to demotivate you. I said that because of both the lack of sources and no positivism in the content. Rest is your call. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:40, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
@Pavanjandhyala: Not a problem, Pavanjandhyala. It is not about the positive or negative aspects in the film, but it's soulfulness and Ratha Kanneer is indeed a moving and soulful, albeit sad, film. Kailash, which one do you think would have GA potential (one which has a lot of sources available)? Thamizhan1994 (அப்போ பேசு) 04:47, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Accepted that Thamizhan. I watched Raktha Kanneeru (Kannada/Telugu), a faithful remake of Ratha Kaneer. The concept itself was very depressing. Anyways, i wish you all the best for anything you choose. But make sure it is a worthy choice after completing your third GA hat-trick. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:51, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Ratha Kanneer is covered in The Best of Tamil Cinema, so I will send you the pages soon. The same with Aayirathil Oruvan and Enga Veettu Pillai. But don't forget to search the forum page Mayyam (search by typing the film names in Tamil). Kailash29792 (talk) 05:00, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much, Kailash. My final year project finishes in mid-to-late December, after which I will finish Nayakan first along with you. Then, we will take up Aayirathil Oruvan, Enga Veettu Pillai and Ratha Kanneer. Thamizhan1994 (அப்போ பேசு) 05:58, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

@Pavanjandhyala: I thought so (that you would mention its remake). Watch the original Ratha Kanneer (1954). It is truly moving. M. R. Radha was very good in it. Also, regarding old Telugu films, I see Devadas (1953) having the potential to become a GA. You can try and find something in it from The Hindu and The Times of India and also something like the Baburao article on Missamma/Missiamma. You can do it. Pride of Tamil cinema, Theodore Baskaran page 91-92 and Rajadhyaksha and Willemen have information about it that you can use. Thamizhan1994 (அப்போ பேசு) 05:58, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Search for more news articles using this. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:07, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
@Pavanjandhyala: Cinegoer and Idlebrain too have articles on Devadasu. Thamizhan1994 (அப்போ பேசு) 06:19, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Aayirathil Oruvan, Enga Veetu Pillai and Ratha Kanneer. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:58, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
@Thamizhan1994: Missamma is one of my GAs and i extensively used Baburao's info for that. And, Srivin wants to take Devadas to GA status. I can't discourage him and pick up a row (refer Arjann vs. Krimuk90 on Haider). I will talk to him and decide. And, for that to happen, it will take around late November 2015 after i'm done with my exams. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:19, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Arjann is incapable of making any article a GA due to his inability to write quality prose. He does add content heavily and makes articles comprehensive and accurate, but these alone are not enough for an article to become a GA. Sometimes he replaces formally written words with slang and weasel words (not cuss words though, but still unencyclopedic jargon). One of his GA nominations – Highway (soundtrack) – was a failure mainly because of its prose. He has even quit Wikipedia twice because of editors criticising him and his writing style, rather than learn from them. I do not want to see Srivin become another version of him. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:34, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for mentioning my name but to be frank i am still learning to write and edit any article, (I can't do like the way you do, you guys are brilliant) I too commit mistakes not every article can be flawless, isn't it ? A single person is not only be responsible for an article turning into a GA, other persons who helped him and corrected the mistakes also work together for the betterment of the article. Regarding Devadasu, its a cult classic in Telugu cinema so naturally it has all possiblities to become a GA. I will not make mistakes like Arjann. Srivin (talk) 07:46, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I see. I want to place a view about myself over here. I'm not an experienced user and I don't know everything about Wikipedia. I never aim to take any article to GA status, forget about the FA. I'm a Business Executive at Oracle and I have an inherent quality not to give up. If I was so weak and de-moralised, I wouldn't have resumed editing. It is my interest to write. I believe in the fact no one is perfect and perfection is not easy. Further, success comes from team-work and not alone (in case of Wiki). I still respect that guy Krimuk90, no matter whatever was between us, I liked the way he wrote the articles and gave it a class. But there was a monopoly under him that hinders inexperienced users' confidence on Wikipedia but everyone can see the result of love and hate, now. Coming back to Highway's soundtrack, it was a different thing. Frankly speaking, I didn't know how to review an article or like how does a GA process happen. No matter how bad or good times were over here, I always trusted and believed in the words of @Kailash29792: and Ssven2. I have done and I always do my work on Wikipedia with a clean heart and good intuitions. I leave the rest to others who may handle the work in a better way. I don't hold my past and its negativity in my present. Allah Haafiz... :) Arjann (talk) 12:05, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Arjann, I mentioned your name because i didn't want something to happen between me and Srivin on the lines of you vs. Krimuk90 for Haider. I didn't mean that you are a bad editor, i just didn't want to strain our friendship (which wasn't strong though). Why misunderstand me? And Kailash, i was clearly mentioning that i don't want an edit war and i want to see Srivin make a GA. You too misunderstood. Coming to Krimuk90, he is more or less a protege of Dr. Blofeld and i don't think "monopoly" is something these two have. Anyways, i wish everyone involved all the best for their future endeavours. Good bye! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:17, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
@Pavanjandhyala:. Hush. It is ok. Relax. I got a chance to clear the air and I did it. I don't want users to have any misunderstandings with me. Let bygones be bygones. I don't give a damn to Krimuk90. I know I was right in that tussle. I'm glad he has gone. I don't hide my mistakes and wrong-doings in front of others. Sigh. Arjann (talk) 15:10, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

I really loved its first season, saw it for the first time during Dusshera holidays. Recent reverts

After a general "You are a pain in the neck", Idiot and recently I have a dream, that one day vandalisers are arrested. It is good to make sure that vandalism is reverted, but such summaries are not expected from someone of your stature. We are here to end, not to begin new enmity. We've enough of them. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:36, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for the advice. But I did not cuss in my edits, so that should save me from being blocked. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:43, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
You wouldn't be blocked for such things. Vensatry wasn't blocked when he reverted a vandal writing "Fuck Off". TRPoD should have been blocked umpteen times by now. You may be trolled, or may lose your respect. The former is a bit easy to tackle, but the latter distances you from all. Take care. BTW, any decision taken about the 90's GA plan? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:03, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Yes. I plan Roja, and I've already been collecting references. Meanwhile, Mullum Malarum is at the GOCE, and after that it will be a FAC. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:06, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
I actually was referring to the Dec 12 90's GA (Rajini film having a DYK on Dec 12). Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:07, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Nope, I have no plans yet. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:09, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
No problem. If you do have some, let me know. I want to see the legendary to be honoured in a small, affordable way. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:11, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Can you please tint this image to the appropriate level? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:40, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Sure, tomorrow I will. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:44, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, man! The poster looks much better now. It was really difficult to find an unwatermarked poster for Maro Charitra and i made it finally! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:11, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Copyediting

Hi Kailash - I was asked to copyedit Urumi_(film) but have since gotten involved with multiple projects and a case at ArbCom so I was hoping you could give it a look when you get time. Thanks in advance.... Atsme📞📧 12:08, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Hiphop Tamizha

Hiphop Tamizha have also confirmed the project on their offical Twitter page. You can make the relevant changes, when you feel it is apt to add it. Editor 2050 (talk) 16:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Editor 2050, but their Facebook page (verified one) does not say so. And though their Twitter page is indeed official and confirms HHT's involvement in the film, it does not have that verified sign (blue box with a tick). How do we then use it as a source here? Kailash29792 (talk) 16:10, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure. I guess an official press release will be out soon. Editor 2050 (talk) 16:12, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Bangalore

Hi Kailash. Hope everything is fine. After that personal loss, you know i've been leading a recluse life. After a suggestion by a doctor, i left for Bangalore this October. New place, new language (people are comfortable speaking Telugu there and that was a boon for me) and some old memories. Also managed to meet Upendra again (wish i took a photo and upload it in commons, but it didn't happen). All in all, it was a good trip. Though everything continues to haunt, the effect is less now and i'm happy that panic attacks have ceased. I've returned today evening to Hyderabad. Did you ever visit Bangalore? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:46, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Yes, my father's brother lived there and their cousin currently lives there. I've visited them both in Bangalore. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:51, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
Good. I think Bangalore is one of the pleasant cities in India i ever visited (in terms of climate and serenity). The traffic was a headache though. BTW, do you have any info about Kalyanam Panni Paar and Malliswari from Danny's books? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 00:59, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Both are not there. And did KPP ever have a Tamil version? Cos the books cover only Tamil films. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:51, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
KPP had a Tamil version it seems. A few video songs are available in YouTube. Malliswari is a cult film in both the languages, don't know why Danny missed it. Anyways, thanks. My goal is just to expand it to permissible limits. I don't think so that the reference count would cross ten. Still, i'm hopeful of a possible GA! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:48, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

I've requested a c/e at the GOCE for Pelli Chesi Choodu. If everything goes well, this would be another GA of mine! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:24, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Kailash, after Dr. Blofeld's comments at the FAC, i have added three reviews after a hectic, long search. But, one of them by Vamsee Juluri does not have the page numbers specified. Can you help? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:31, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Did you get the chapter's name/number? You could add that. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:36, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
It is chapter 1, topic no. 2/4. How to mention this? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:53, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
I guess this is how it will work: {{sfn|Author|Year|loc=chapter x}}. Or read Template:sfn for more. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:11, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
You could also add sources to the footnotes, eg: the Kaurava and Laddoo footnotes. They will help expand the article. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:15, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Do you think this will be of any use? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 02:40, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Seems very useful. For which article do you intend to use it? Kailash29792 (talk) 03:15, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
For me, it is Kumari 21F at present. You can use it for Sethu, Nanda and Enthiran if you want. You can also expand Rathnavelu's article with this if you want. Do you think it can be used in the "Legacy" sections of Mouna Raagam, Nayakan, Agni Natchatiram, Geethanjali, and Thiruda Thiruda? I think it can be used in them as he commenced his work in 1993. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 03:53, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
In the source I did not find mention of any of Ratnam's films you have mentioned here (except Bombay). But I did find mention of Bala's films, so it will be useful in their articles. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:15, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
I've used it in Kumari 21F now. Because of his interviews, the production section has been comfortably divided into two (Development and Filming). Do you think i have to make any further changes in that section? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:32, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Pride of Tamil cinema

I see that the book contains paraphrased information from Wikipedia and other sources, including the DFF archives. At this stage, I seriously doubt its credibility. What say? Vensatry (Talk) 09:51, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

I too can clearly say it is not entirely a credible source due to numerous inaccuracies and content copied from us and its reliance on many low quality sources. Some quotes have not been paraphrased at all. I do not want to see Danny as another James Tod. But none of the inaccuracies in the book have been proven yet, so I don't think it yet qualifies as a non-reliable source. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:00, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Look at the awards claim in Iruvar for instance. I've been constantly reverted by some fanboy IPs. Vensatry (Talk) 13:33, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Reliable or not, if it qualifies as WP:MIRROR, we shouldn't use it. Vensatry (Talk) 13:35, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

mahesh babu

pavanjandhyala is reverting it to unsourced content, which is completely of original research, and mahesh babu father krishn'a point of view, like what he wanted for his son, and it is full of original research, i request your interference, my advice is stop wasting your time on proving his allegations over me.Pravbv (talk) 13:27, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Pravbv, please review Pavan's version and compare it with yours. Though I have not read his version fully, it looks more polished and presentable than yours. And please stop attacking other editors. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:32, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Pravbv

I surely believe that it is another sock by Padmalakshmisx. Do what is supposed to be done. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:22, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Pravbv's disruptive editing style, rude attitude, bombarding talk pages with multiple sections, all beginning in small-case letters and him being familiar with Wikipedia despite his account being created in August this year, these alone should give away Padmalakshmisx's barely concealed cover. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:25, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
Can you please file the case at SPI? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:26, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

dont waste your time, internet, and man hours on sock puppet investigations, no one is interested in SPI investigations now-a-days, unsourced content cannot be accepted Pravbv (talk) 13:29, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

I should tell that to a cyber criminal like you Pravbv. It's true many people are not interested in SPI cases, but no-one can accept damaging of articles by adamant "editors" like you. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:36, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

cyber criminal ?

cyber criminal is a big word, mahesh babu is not my relative and he is not giving me any money boss, on the other hand, it is not pavan jandhayals version I am against to, it is some other editors version with poor english, and zero inline citations boss. You are making allegations boss. Pravbv (talk) 13:46, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

you open SPI cases, not one 50 you should open

I already told you, I am an inside man of wikipedia. Pravbv (talk) 13:49, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

what do u get after doing SPI on some one?

dont waste your time, I am advising you once again. Mind your buisness with Tamil articles, show me one Telugu article you contributed to GA nomination? you are a big zero and hypocrite. You are only interested in Tamil diaspora, you just want to damage telugu articles.Pravbv (talk) 13:52, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

may be you are doing cyber crimes, and accounting frauds

sock puppetry and meat pupptery (that you do) has nothing to do with cyber crime. Pravbv (talk) 13:53, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

SPI investigation

you did hundreds of SPI investigations from past 3 years, you got anything? in fact you are damaging more Telugu articles than them. In the process you by mistake tagged three innocent editors as SPI'sPravbv (talk) 13:56, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

I do none of what you accuse me of. I have only one account, I follow WP:NPOV, I show no conflict of interest and I do not damage Andhra-related articles; I just clean unconstructive edits, and only oppose those GA nominees which have poor quality prose and are not ready for GA. Me not contributing to Andhra-related articles is not because of my hatred towards Telugu people and culture, it's just that I have no interest. But Pavan (a Telugu) is my friend, and we support each other's editing styles, unlike you. 14:01, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Enthiran Vs. Hollywood

Kailash and Ssven2, I've observed that someone is trying to make a statement that Enthiran has similarities with Upendra's Hollywood. I really appreciate your efforts on Enthiran regarding this issue at the moment. Perhaps, these may be helpful to you both—1,2 Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:10, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Neither of the sources confirm that Enthiran is even partially based on Hollywood, whose lead actor describes the former as an "absolute original". Kailash29792 (talk) 09:17, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Well, that is something i too am trying to say. Defend yourself using these. Also, Upendra is its writer, and a writer's statement in such cases is surely valuable for defense. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:20, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
I'll add it in the "plagiarism allegations" section in this evening. Pavan, could you try and find references which show when the reports of "similarities" between the two films surfaced? Thanks.  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:21, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Although Wikipedia has a policy against rumours, in select situations they are fine. This should be one such. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:23, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Ssven2, apart from this, i could not find anything else. But i found something rather strange else here, which makes me rethink about Upendra the filmmaker again. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:35, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Kailash and Ssven2, Pelli Chesi Choodu is now a GA! I really managed to make an article with less than 20 citations pass the requirements (though Doctor found it OK considering the availability of sources). Now, i am just one step away from 20-0! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:55, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Thank you indeed, but you're late by a bit over a year. BTW, Mullum Malarum (1977) is currently a FAC. Please post comments if necessary on its FAC page. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:31, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Baradwaj Rangan

Assuming you're a regular follower of his blog, do you comment on his posts? Vensatry (Talk) 17:11, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

No; though I read most of his articles, I never comment on them. But he was my teacher at the Asian College of Journalism. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:26, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
Oh, you were a student at this college? Vensatry (Talk) 17:37, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
Are you guys (you and Ssven2) safe? Vensatry (Talk) 17:47, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
I'm safe, but the floods have limited my outdoor activity. As for Ssven, they've limited his internet strength. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:50, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
Live in the outskirts? Vensatry (Talk) 17:53, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
I live near the Adyar River. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:56, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
Glad you're safe! Vensatry (Talk) 17:58, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
@Vensatry: I'm at K. K. Nagar. Water has receded. Wi-Fi's come back just now. Even my outdoor activities were limited. Will go out today or tmrw at the earliest.  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:52, 7 December 2015 (UTC)

Chennai floods

Hey, how are you and @Ssven2: ? Read and saw the devastating condition in Chennai, India. Please take care. Hope to see you both resume editing. :) Arjann (talk) 06:04, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

I am completely unscathed. And the floods are over. Only rehabilitation continues. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:20, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Blanking article

Hi there,

I noticed that you blanked the article Enthiran 2 and made into a redirect to Enthiran. Your edit summary had a link and a quotation, but no actual reason provided for the removal of all that content. Why not add a section called "Delays"? I'm pretty confused as to why you decided to just remove everything... Rambunctious Racoon (talk) 17:06, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

A line from a paragraph reads, If both sources are equally reputable, it is better to include them both in the Wikipedia article, explaining in text how they contradict each other, e.g.: "This source says he was born on 21 October, while another source says he was born on 23 October. Don't you think the reads should be clearly asked to explain them using a footnote? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:37, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Footnotes are mostly optional, for it is sometimes fine to include contradicting statements within the main text too. Check the first paragraphs of Padayappa#Box office and Veerapandiya Kattabomman (film)#Production to understand what I mean. But how do you find the essay written by me? Do you think can it be improved? Kailash29792 (talk) 09:49, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
Such essays are quoted for articles irrespective of the situation. Agreed for articles with less details, the contradicting statements can be included in the main article. But, do you think every article will have such less detail? What if the same issue is faced by an article with a scale of coverage greater than or equal to Interstellar? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:08, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
I don't know. If the contradicting details are large and detailed, or have significance, or maybe a mix of both, then it is necessary to write them in the main text. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:20, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
Then how you began working on it without any groundwork? I think this essay will require a close review by highly-knowledgeable users, unlike me. Overall, it is a good one and using "Rashomon" and a "Blind men and elephant" for such a serious issue is sarcastic enough, which i thoroughly appreciate. All the best!
