Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Marc Rodrigues (Collabora), and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was User:Marc Rodrigues (Collabora)/sandbox, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Request reason:

Dear Wikipedia, Admins, hello everybody. Please find below my unblock request. I had created this account to be able to apply with Wikipedia's terms for transparency to my best knowledge. I have added a paid contributions disclosure to my user page and also chose to create an account with my real name and professional email to make any possible conflicts of interest visible. I have to admit, that I was not aware of the WP:Articles for creation space, and will of course be glad to use this in the future. Thanks for pointing this out. Furthermore, I am accused that advertising or spam is the only motive of my contributions. I would like to point out that the account serves on the contrary to make my contributions made during working hours distinguishable from my voluntary contributions under the user SustReal (German Wikipedia, or mostly just my IP). In this respect, I would like to note that I consider the contributions made - apart from my undoubtedly undeniable conflict of interest - to be relevant. Collabora Online is an open source software based on LibreOffice, which is used daily by hundreds of thousands of users in educational institutions, public administration and companies. The comparable proprietary solutions Microsoft 365, Google Docs or OnlyOffice are each represented with articles and in various listings. My impression is that the information about Collabora Online should be available in the English Wikipedia (in the German Wikipedia it already was) and should be part of the lists I have been working on. (The information about Collabora Online and LibreOffice Online in the English Wikipedia is incomplete and often about four years out of date). For my contributions - both paid and voluntary - I try to use an objective, fact-based notation to the best of my ability. I hope I may continue to use this new account in the future to improve Wikipedia and keep it up-to-date. Thank you very much for your attention! Best regards, --Marc Rodrigues (Collabora) (talk) 16:30, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You seem to be here to tell the world about your company and its products; that won't be permitted. Making the required paid editing declaration is not a license to promote what your company does. Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources say about your company and its products, not what the company wants to say about itself(as in press releases). If there are topics other than those for which you have a conflict of interest that you want to edit about, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 00:19, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I've placed your request outside the block notice; if you make another, please copy and paste the template outside the block notice, and then make out the unblock request. 331dot (talk) 00:19, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Collabora Online requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 1292simon (talk) 05:54, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
