Information icon Hi Mattia332! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Control copyright icon Hello Mattia332, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Juan Carlos I have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DrKay (talk) 22:10, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! Walter Görlitz (talk) 09:29, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In short, why should the coat be a poor heraldric representation of the Canadian coat when a fair use rationale exists for the official coat? Feel free to discuss it on the article's talk page. Walter Görlitz (talk) 09:38, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mattia332. You are invited to discuss the question of which flag(s) should be used in Austria-Hungary's infobox because you recently participated in the editing of the Austria-Hungary article regarding this. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Kyiv offensive (2022), did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hey, @Mattia332: I don't want to leave a canned message about constructive editing but just wanted to reach out about something I have noticed about your edits this month. On the article for Austria, you edited the page to feature ahistorical information. I presume this was for a screenshot. While generally innocuous, edits like that constitute vandalism and can cause both immediate problems and latent issues. If you wish to experiment or play with infoboxs so information can match your alternate reality (a perfectly acceptable way to practice Wikipedia skills), please do so only in preview or on your own draft/sandbox page. As for your edit on Catholic Church, deletion of consensus-added sentences is inappropriate. If something in the lede of a core article like that strikes you as inappropriate, try taking the matter to the talk page to see if there has been prior discussion or to establish new consensus. Thanks! ~ Pbritti (talk) 15:49, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DS Notice: Eastern Europe

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

You have shown interest in Russo-Ukrainian war. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hey. Please note that there is a new general sanction; only extended-confirmed users are allowed to edit articles related to the Russo-Ukrainian War (WP:GS/RUSUKR). Additionally, The New York Times is a newspaper of record and considered a reliable source (WP:RSP). Prolog (talk) 11:55, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take note, thanks Mattia332 (talk) 16:36, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Most of your edits this year are in violation of the sanctions. These restrictions are not optional. Prolog (talk) 21:12, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Ukraine according to Russia.svg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ukraine according to Russia.svg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:30, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to engage in subtle vandalism by making unexplained changes to information, as you did at Yalta, you may be blocked from editing. Rauisuchian (talk) 03:26, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Subtle vandalism? Excuse me? Why are you accusing me of such a thing? I'm simply trying to do my part in Wikipedia and enforce the NPOV Rule that its clearly laking in pages such as Yalta, giving a neutral point of view, since currently it has an overwhelming ukranian goverment Rhetoric POV, which goes against Wikipedia's guidelines. Wikipedia's job is to show a neutral POV that displays both sides Mattia332 (talk) 14:50, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
According to the United Nations, Crimea is part of Ukraine. WP:NPOV (neutral point of view) means to reflect the significant viewpoints in reliable sources (WP:RS). It doesn't mean to reflect all sources including fringe and propaganda as otherwise articles would be weighed down by undue weight of excess ramblings outside of what real sources say (see WP:UNDUE and WP:RSUW). The most NPOV thing to do would be to 1. use the United Nations-recognized definition and 2. use reliable sources, which reflect the United Nations-recognized definition. -- Rauisuchian (talk) 07:12, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enought, though I didn't knew WIkipedia based itself off the UN's opinions, specially because of all it's criticism against it; more over the Yalta article has not a UN wording but a clearly ukranian rhetoric one Mattia332 (talk) 13:07, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
