Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:Diskyboy per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Diskyboy. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I've told Wikipedia from the start, I do have the same IP address as a notorious sockpuppeter. I live outside Philadelphia and have been lurking on this site for about a week. I've given you all the information I can, and did my best to help end my sockpuppet investigation in a quick and formal way, but at the end of the day, I'm not a sockpuppet. I've never used Wikipedia before. :I started editing after seeing an article on Judas Priest that lacked a source for a detail. I'm not sure what this sockpuppeter and their alternate accounts in my area were doing, but I don't care, because it's none of business. Point is I've already made it well aware, that yes, I do share the same IP address as a nefarious editor, and from what I've heard, there is a safe place to declare such a thing, but it was all futile in the end as I'm now banned. I had so many more edits in mind and even planned to make my first article soon, but it's all pointless now. :I can't be blocked for using multiple accounts, because this is my first account. I get it's a complicated situation, and you guys would prefer to be safe than sorry, but I'm just a new user who wanted to fix up some rock and metal articles. I only joined Wikipedia to help, and I'm sorry my time here has caused so much drama. If there's any other so called sockpuppeters in my area, they're likely using dynamic IP addresses, but I'll even help in exposing them if possible. Point is I'm here to make Wikipedia a better place, not violate any rules, and I'm sorry my time here has come just that, but I ask to be given a second chance. Thank you. ThePainkiller90 (talk)

Decline reason:

I'm not buying it. The same narrow focus and I don't accept your claim as to how you knew Diskyboy's IP address, nor your claim around VPN's. But let's pretend for a moment that everything you said was true and you are innocently affected by sharing an IP address. That unfortunately is the end of the line until that abusive user is gone. And that's not even touching on the hateful neo-nazi garbage. Yamla (talk) 10:30, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
