[edit]With the recent news about gay rights in Indonesia becoming difficult with the law lately, how are transgendered people still able to change gender? Because in wikiedpia's article LGBT rights in Indonesia says people can change gender with judicial approval. But has this changed since the news is happening? Translating titles?
[edit]Vietnamese awards are mostly referred to as their translated names in English-language news websites. However, these translated names are not official. I googled the English names, and there are not much information about the awards.
When should a title of a film/song/award be changed to English? Is there any Wikipedia page that talks about this? Please help! Beyoncetan 2 (talk) 11:43, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hey Beyoncetan 2. Per guidance at Wikipedia:Article titles#English-language titles, titles on the English Wikipedia should usually be whatever name is used by English language sources, which in your case would be the unofficial translated names. However, if there is also a closely associated name (or names) in a non-English language, such that a native speaker of the other language is likely to search for it, it would be appropriate to create a redirect from the non-English title to the English one. Inquiry

I'm just registered, and want to say thank you to Wikipedia for the opportunity to be a user. As for my actual issue, I wanted to create a new page. The page is to do with a method of examination, and is a personal method devised by myself. The point of the page is just the issues to do with the method of examination in question, and I wanted to inquire as to whether I can create such a page

- Welcome. Is this a method which has non-trivial coverage in independent (of you) reliable sources? If not then the answer to your question is "no" - see this for an explanation. If it is then there would likely be no problem with there being an article, but you would be strongly discouraged from being the one to create it - see this for an explanation. You would be advised to either write about it in other outlets or, and I'd encourage this, contribute to articles on other subjects. I have left a "welcome" on your talk page giving more info. - Wikipedia:Changing username has instructions on how to get your username changed. You've also made zero substantive edits to Wikipedia with this account. Editing A Wiki List. I have three entries to add to the page "List of black Primetime Emmy Awards Winners...."

Texas' 30th Congressional District election, 2018

- Thank you for raising the matter. This is about the infobox in Texas's 30th congressional district. The Census table makes it clear that the Hispanic people are counted again in the "race" classification. Unfortunately the layout of the infobox template,
{{Infobox U.S. congressional district}}

Disable automatic spellchecking?
[edit]Spellchecking in the Wikipedia environment has been getting more intrusive, and it's starting to drive me nuts. If I type a word into the Wikipedia editor that it's not familiar with, it's liable to change it to some other word. A recent example that I didn't catch until I published it was a change from carbonatite to carbonate. I think the editor is causing me more trouble by fighting with me than it is saving by correcting actual spelling errors. The search box is becoming a pain too. For example, in searching for information on spellchecking, I typed "wp:spell" using the shortcut for articles in the project namespace. Bizarrely, it changed it to "p:spell". Does anyone know how to make the interface a little dumber so I can edit in peace? RockMagnetist (DCO visiting scholar) (talk) 20:02, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- I’m pretty sure Wikipedia does not have it’s own spellchecker and that whatever device you are editing with is doing that. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:19, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

- The search box does attempt to send you to whatever it thinks you want rather than what you typed. That is not a browser issue. DuncanHill (talk) 22:50, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

- Yes, but the drop down of suggestions covers the "go" button, so it is easy to accidentally click on one of the suggestions rather than the "go" button. DuncanHill (talk) 23:28, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

If not then I'm afraid he would not be included in the Wikipedia list as it is only for persons deemed notable in the Wikipedia sense. See that page for more information. See also WP:WTAF.
