Jayne Kirkham is a British Labour Party politician who was elected MP for Truro and Falmouth in the 2024 United Kingdom general election.[1][2] She unseated the Conservative incumbent Cherilyn Mackrory.[3] Kirkham is the Labour group leader on Cornwall Council and represents Falmouth Penwerris ward.[4]
She contested the same seat in 2017, tripling the Labour vote and was narrowly defeated by the Conservative candidate Sarah Newton.[5]
Early life[edit]
Kirkham graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Southampton in 1994. She then studied at the University of Law.[6]
